“My request is for my cousin, Dianna, and her family, who were happily waiting for the birth of their second son. He was due in July, but baby Leo decided to join his family early in April.

Born at just 26 weeks and 4 days, weighing in at 2lbs 1 oz, little Leo surprised everyone. Dianna, her fiancé, Chris and their 2 year old Eli have a long road ahead of them while they navigate Leo’s extended stay in the NICU. While there were few complications, Leo will be at the NICU until at least July, and will require extra special care once at home.

This $2500 gift will help Dianna and Chris with the extra day to day expenses of traveling to the NICU daily, as well as Dianna missing work to care for Eli and visit Leo at the hospital. While no parent should have to worry about money after the birth of a child, this is even more so the case with a micro preemie. I am sure you can imagine how this is not compatible with our current capitalist system.”
